The C-BRTA attends Easter Road Safety Campaign
A C-BRTA delegation led by the Chairperson of the Board, Adv. Sonwabile Mancotywa supported the Minister of Transport, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga at the launch of the 2024 Easter Road Safety Campaign on Wednesday, 20 March, in Mkhondo, Mpumalanga. With the theme for 2024 being “Fika uphila” (Arrive Alive), the focus of the launch was on increasing road safety awareness , reducing road crashes during the Easter period and ensuring road users reach their destinations safely.
The launch commenced with prayer sessions held at several accident prone locations, where influential figures from the Interfaith community led prayers dedicated to road safety.
During her keynote address, the Minister gave clear instructions to Law Enforcement Authorities to arrest anyone who is found on the wrong side of the law, and ensure that they prevent an increase in road fatality stats in all provinces. Furthermore, the launch paved the way for the C-BRTA to intensify its Cross-Alive Road safety campaign along the corridors that lead to various border posts.
