Research, Development & Advisory Unit
The unit has three subunits, namely, Corridor Assessment & Strategic Analysis, Trade and Economics, and Transport, Policy, Regulations & Safety. The Research, Development and Advisory unit conducts in-depth research in relevant areas with the aim of sharing reliable information and scientifically driven solutions to corridor role-players with a view to inform decision-making towards resolving challenges in the cross-border road transport industry and enhancing the unimpeded flow of cross-border road transport movements, as per the Agency’s mandate.
The unit also provides strategic support by driving major initiatives and strategic projects in the Agency to assist the organisation to achieve its objectives and goals. The unit has two focal areas, namely:
- Research Services which is responsible for conducting in-depth research in relevant areas with the aim of providing scientifically driven solutions to the Agency and information to key industry stakeholders; and
- Advisory Services focuses on advocacy and influencing policy direction, enhancing development of the sector through direct participation in various national and regional structures and programmes and designing and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the development of the sector.
Corridor Assessment & Strategic Analysis Sub-unit
The focus of this subunit is to provide corridor assessments and strategic analysis with a view to assist the Agency and stakeholders at large in the over all goal of enhancing the unimpeded flow of cross-border road transport movements.

The focus of this subunit is to conduct cross-border road transport related research directly or commission research from primary and secondary data sources. It involves environmental scanning for key developments taking place in the region that may impact on the cross-border road transport industry.

The focus of this subunit is to conduct research in the areas of cross-border road transportation, policy, regulation, and safety to provide advice to the Agency.
