Key functions

To develop and implement policy initiatives aimed at transforming the cross-border road transport regulatory regime, i.e. from quantity to quality regulation in order to discharge the execution of the Agency’ regulatory mandate and advance the achievement of national objectives. Key areas for the Sub-Unit include amongst others:

  • Cross-border road transport planning.
  • Assessment of emerging cross-border passenger routes.
  • Conduct primary and secondary analysis of cross-border passenger transport patterns.
  • Execution of cross-border road transport related investigations and route

Assessments

  • Develop reports and concept documents to advise the Regulatory Committee of new trends within the passenger industry.
  • Regulatory policy development and implementation.
  • Development, maintenance and review of accreditation and compliance system
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory policies, procedures, frameworks, standards and
  • accreditation procedures
  • Support the Regulatory Committee in the execution of its functions
